Clairderm Microdermabrasion with crystals or without crystals
The Clairderm Microdermabrasion machines work with Corundum crystals which are hard, coarse and uneven crystals that don't normally cause allergic reactions with the skin. Due to their antibacterial properties, the crystals are ideal for treating acne and congested skin conditions.
While crystals are the preferred method for microdermabrasion treatments, there is the option of using the three different sized diamond heads in place of crystals. The diamond heads are a more gentle treatment option but additional treatments may be required to achieve the desired results.
For optimum skin results, how many treatments are recommended?
You can expect visible improvements with six microdermabrasion skin treatments - one treatment per week for six weeks. Once achieved - maintenance of the desired skin result should be possible with one treatment per month.
Is a microdermabrasion treatment more effective for the skin than normal facial treatments?
Yes, microdermabrasion is a technologically advanced cosmetic which can provide deeper and longer lasting effects than topical application of products alone. Microdermabrasion promotes skin rejuvenation producing new collagen by providing a superior exfoliation and aiding lymphatic processes deep within the skin.
Is there any down time to heal?
No. Microdermabrasion is not a harsh or deep treatment requiring days to heal. Some redness may occur and this will vary from client to client, however most redness will subside within 24 hours. Make-up can be applied immediately following the procedure which means you can have the treatment done during your lunch break and then return to work.
Are there any special skin care requirements for you following a microdermabrasion procedure?
Procedures can make the skin much more porous and sensitive to sunlight, so we recommend that following a treatment you diligently apply sunscreen to those areas to prevent sunburn.
Are there any precautions to take before or after a microdermabrasion treatment?
It is recommended that invasive procedures are avoided directly before or after a microdermabrasion treatment. Waxing should not be undertaken two days prior or for at least seven days following a treatment. We strongly suggest that you do not use sun beds or swim in heavily chlorinated water for at least two weeks following a treatment.
